Thesis complete!

Character design final!

My character design final! A long long story for a psychological video game pitch accompanies this, but I won't bore you all with the full length version. Basic premise: we play as a young boy through his psychiatrist visits as we piece together the memories that trauma as blocked out regarding the murders  of his family members. The form of treatment involves a virtual reality program that skews his memories into dreamlike environments and all of his loved ones into series of demons that he must defeat to release his true memories.

Character Design Class

Some practice characters from my character design class, involving  "a beast and it's master" as well as an environment based upon a classmate's characters.

Book Illustration Class

Here are a few images from my book illustration class. All are completed digitally and include: A narrative based environment, a series of black and white drawings based off the list title "Winning names for stuffed animals," a book cover design, a tile for an end paper pattern (for the adapted rapunzel illustration), an invented character and a spot illustration involving a secondary character.

Thesis-Nightmare Creatures in Progress

Continuing on with my thesis project, this time with a dimension filled with things from nightmares. Whenever a creature manifests in a nightmare, it also manifests in this dimension. I've been having fun with some of the creatures there, all of these are works in progress, but I'm really enjoying them!

Twisted Rapunzel Book Illustration

For my book illustration class, we were asked to re-invent a public domain story, I chose Rapunzel. here are some of the original concept ideas as well as a piece from the version I chose.

So here's the start of some concept art for one of my character design class assignments. The story for a hypothetical video game goes roughly as follows: the player alternates between three protagonists in three very different provinces. Each of these characters seems to have a strange power that has followed them for as long as they can remember. One has the power to create, another to destroy, the third to merge objects (alchemy). Each has a guardian figure that has raised them, either encouraging, discouraging or ignoring the presence of these children's powers. Signs of the apocalypse arise, all believing god is coming to smite them, the children set out to save the world, believing it to be their destiny. It is revealed that it is not god at all, but a ship from another world coming back to claim the protagonists that they dropped long ago to mold the world for recolonization.

here, I have designed the character from the creation province, her guardian, a glimpse of the creation province and a potential design for the aliens.

Finishing Waterland -Thesis

Here are some more pieces for the water inspired world for my thesis: Plants, some revised creatures and a concept for a coral desert.
